Why does the fuse in my power cord keep getting corroded?

I have a 1500 watt kicker L5 15" subwoofer wired to a kenwood 1800 watt amp. about every two weeks i have to buy a new fuse for my power cord because the one thats in there gets corroded and causes the sub to cut off. I was just wondering what is making the fuse get so corroded.
