Since Donaire and Ward are best friends, could that help unify blacks and Filipino fans in boxing?

It's f-ing 2011...the color of one's skin or race shouldn't have any bearing of who you root for and who you don't. It's okay to be proud of someone who comes from the same geographic region as you, or the same nationality. I admit, that a big reason that I'm a fan of Manny Pacquiao is that he makes me proud to be Filippino (Filippino American for me) and he brings a positive awareness to the country of the Philippines, and on top of that, he's a damn great fighter, but it doesn't mean I view other fighters in a more negative light if they are not the same race or nationality as me. I have never not liked any fighter, athlete, person because of the color of their skin or their country of origin. It's 2011 people! We've come too far fighting for peace and equality for all to let our admiration of a boxer affect the way we view others because we don't like a boxer or fighter that happens to be the same race as them. Let's get back to talking boxing!
