How to get corroded brake dust off alloy wheels?

I have a "99 Acura integra with alloy wheels (I think meshies). There is crusted/corroded brake dust around the rim. I've tried various cleaners (WD40, AtoZ, Armor All wheel clnr and Goof Off) - nothing works! I read to try using Easy Off oven cleaner. Will this work? I'm afraid it will hurt the tires. Any suggestions?
